The Village of Glenview, IL (pop. 45,000) a dynamic, progressive community located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, is seeking experienced finance professionals to lead its budget development, performance management and business plan processes. Located 17 miles north of downtown Chicago, the Village of Glenview has undergone significant development and redevelopment in recent years following the closing of the Glenview Naval Air Station which comprised 1.5 square miles in the center of the Village’s corporate limits. The Village is an AAA rated community with an annual budget of $208 million and 350 full time employees. The position reports to the Finance Director and is responsible for oversight of the Village’s year round budget cycle including five year operating budgets and short and long range revenue and expenditure forecasting; oversight and assistance with the development of business plans for each department; and financial analysis of rates, service delivery levels, and village processes. Position also participates in evaluation of managed competition efforts. Candidates must possess bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public policy or related field; master’s degree in business/public administration or CPA designation highly desirable. Successful candidates will have 5-7 years increasingly responsible, relevant experience in the public and/or private sector and possess excellent interpersonal skills, analytical abilities and well developed public presentation experience.
