VILLAGE MANAGER

The Village of Bannockburn, Illinois (population 1,429), a premier community located in Lake County, 25 miles Northwest of downtown Chicago, is seeking progressive municipal executives as candidates for a position to lead the Village organization. Primarily a residential community, the Village maintains two and four acre lot minimums for single family homes. Corporate parks frame the Village on the eastern and western edges, adding to the tax base and daytime service population (6,727). The Village Manager works closely with the Village President, Board of Trustees, Village staff and community volunteers to administer the Village’s services. Village operations are divided among six areas: Building/Zoning, Finance, Police, Roads and Right of Way, Storm and Sanitary Sewer and Water. The Village has a $5.2 million budget with ten full-time employees. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience as a CAO in a community of comparable size or as an Assistant Manager in a larger community. Master’s Degree strongly preferred. Candidates must have excellent leadership, management and communication skills. Manager will have regular and direct contact with residents, developers and officials; good interpersonal skills are essential. A background in planning and development is strongly desired. Residency is not required. The starting salary is $100,000 +/- DOQ. Apply by January 7, 2008.
